Beer
has been brewed as long as cereals have been cultivated; artifacts
found in ruins show that beer has been around for more than
5,000 years. In Europe, the medieval monks brewed beer and
were responsible for its spread across the continent; the
Chinese brewed beer from barley, wheat and rice.
In ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia
and Europe, barley was the grain of preference.
A real legend has been built around beer, attributing
it with extraordinary nutritional characteristics, rich in
proteins, minerals and vitamins.
This unique and original beverage is made by
taking germinated barley, milling it, mixing it with hot water,
adding hops, yeast and then, after fermenting it, allowing
it to rest for a specific period of time, then filtered and
bottled.
Beer is a very popular beverage, and there are several different
types and methods of brewing which affects its color, taste,
aroma and alcohol content.
